…suck. I think I’ve got one targeting me again. I’ve taken pain killers and am using some of the left-over ear drops from the last time I was plagued, so I should be able to function normally.
Mia had a birthday party yesterday, yay! It was fun. I mostly talked to Nina (moi ^_^;) and we watched a Mexican documentary on crime scene photographers. Intriguing and pretty brutal.
Only three days of work left.. Approx. It’s hard to say when I have no idea of what speed I’ll be able to mix the rest of the songs, but it should flow, since I’ve gotten it started already. Haven’t had a chance to work on Makeshift, though, cos of life and displaced focus.
Sofia will be coming home later in the evening so I have chance to spend some me-time! Probably play some Warband or music or something.
Mixing is fun. But hard. But fun. I’ll need to practice more. I brought home the Makeshift session and I might try mixing it or do some other stuff. Who knows! Tomorrow’s my last day at Omnia. Still got a few days left at Jiffel and then I’ll be looking after Sofia until the summer and maybe beyond summer too. Dunno. Be on the lookout for new music, though! Time off always inspires me to write some wacky stuff and maybe I’ll commit some of it on tape, so to say.
Only one and a half weeks left before my current work contract ends. After that I’ll be home taking care of Sofia until the end of summer, which is probably tougher than I imagine now, but we’ll see. 😀
It’s been quiet on the band front with Juho being in the army, me being uninspired to write more songs/lyrics and the lack of practice sessions, but this is likely to change when I’m home all alone with Sofia. I might end up playing guitar for her all day long, who knows. 😉 I’ve already got some creative juices flowing in me, and I’m trying to create some inspirational feedloop project outside of Mercalli XII that’ll help me get back into composing, since I feel like that last 3-4 years I’ve been working full-time in audio has drained some interest in composing my own music. I’m also a lot more knowledgeable now, so who knows how good I might be if I manage to dust off my composing chops.
Change is afoot. It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out. Life can be such a jump into a void sometimes.
And in case you’re wondering about the title: “Management by perkele is originally a Swedish expression for a Finnish leadership approach that, according to its proponents, takes required actions in a quick and swift way, instead of a prolonged pondering of all possible alternative approaches and points of view before actually getting anything done.” – Wikipedia
Yay! My apprenticeship and all my hard work is bearing fruit: Only one assignment left and I’ll have a degree in audiovisual communication. I’ve gotta write an analysis of the sound design in the movie Chicken Run. It might be hard, but I think I’m up to the task. Only one month left at this job, then I’ll probably be unemployed for a while… Who knows. Exciting. 😀
Vocals have been recorded for Makeshift. Ari said he might wanna re-record some parts, and after that it’ll be mixed and presto! Second proper Mercalli XII demo song will be done!
